In Galaxidi one can meet the established customs (lighting fireplaces, disguised carnivals in the streets, celebrations everywhere ...). What characterizes this beautiful city is the flour-war. It has its roots in Ottoman domination, which was then the custom of the Carnival. Originally they made their face with charcoal, but then flour was added to make the custom more ... spectacular!
