In Thymiana of Chios revives the custom of "Mostra", which lasts two days from the Friday night of Tyrofagos until Sunday morning.

According to the locals, this is where the expression "we bring it up on Friday and put it down on Sunday" came from.

The roots of the custom are in the Middle Ages, with the young ones, on Friday night, wearing old clothes, female or male, covering their faces with improvised masks (moutzounaries) and making various sketches, spreading laughter in the streets of the island.

On Sunday everyone goes to the chapels of Agios Ioannis and Agios Dimitrios to worship and then head to the cemetery of the village accompanied by music organs.

The final destination is the central square of the village, where they dance the talimi, which is a dance that represents the battles of Chiotes against the pirates.

The custom culminates in the church of Saint Eustratius, where banners of Chios and flags are hanged on the railing of the temple.
